Welcome message to parents

At Sunny Lane School we are very keen to hear from parents who need fee assistance. If you have a talented son or daughter who you think would benefit from the education that we offer, please feel free to approach us at any time to discuss how we might be able to help you. Currently around one third of our pupils are in receipt of some financial help towards the fees. The maximum financial assistance we are currently able to offer is 50% of the day fees. However, we are currently fundraising for our Bursary Fund so that in the future we will be able to help a larger number of pupils take up places at our school who would otherwise be unable to do so. We believe our school community is enhanced when there is a wide breadth of backgrounds, talents and characters. This inclusive educational environment benefits all members of the community. The fee assistance that we offer allows us to welcome many talented pupils to our school, irrespective of their ability to pay the school fees. We greatly value all our pupils, whatever their circumstances. We are pleased that we are able to offer a wide range of financial help to parents. Scholarships can be supplemented by means-tested bursaries. We also have several assisted places and some foundation bursaries. Application criteria and requirements differ considerably and we are always happy to clarify what is on offer. Financial assistance is always confidential, so other parents and pupils will be unaware that you are receiving help. At our regular open events, you will be able to speak to members of staff about fee assistance at Sunny Lane School. In addition, you are welcome to make an appointment to discuss your circumstances. We welcome applications from everyone, whatever their financial situation. Please feel free to contact us to ask about financial help. We look forward to meeting you. At Sunny Lane we are very keen to hear from parents who need fee assistance.

About our school

Sunny Lane School is a co-educational day and boarding school for children aged 3-13. We have a long history of educating children. Our pupils come to Sunny Lane School from many different areas of the UK and also from abroad. They all come together to form one caring, industrious and vibrant community. Sunny Lane School is situated just outside the market town. There are excellent links via road and rail and the airport is just 35 minutes away by car. At Sunny Lane School we have the perfect environment to nurture every child. We are fortunate to have 112 acres of wonderful countryside, with modern facilities and a happy community. We have extensive playing fields and a sports centre which was built just two years ago. We share our performing arts centre and theatre with the local community. At Sunny Lane School we equip our pupils with the necessary skills and confidence to go out into the world and live fulfilling and happy lives. Nurturing young minds is central to us at Sunny Lane School. We take a pride in our role in caring for pupils and in teaching and guiding them. We work in collaboration with pupils, parents and staff to make every pupil’s experience valuable and rewarding. Our classes are small and each pupil has their needs individually catered for. During our last inspection, in November, inspectors rated Sunny Lane School as excellent for the quality of the pupils’ personal development. Our academic standards are high across a broad curriculum and we embrace a breadth of ability, supporting each child to achieve their personal best. Life at Sunny Lane School is about much more than just what happens in the classroom. At Sunny Lane School we foster a great feeling of community, in which everyone has a role to play. Extra-curricular pursuits are very important and we believe strongly in the benefits of participation across a wide range of activities.
